    1. Another thing that made this photo session special was the time of day. A road passes through the wetland that the local high school students use to walk home. Several noticed me with my camera and tripod and stopped by to chat. They didn’t know the name of the bird or anything about it. So, I loved the opportunity to share naturalist thoughts with them…. pretty nice:)

    1. Yes, how about them?! I’ve just discovered they are one of the keys to distinguishing a Great Egret from a Snowy Egret. The Great has black legs/ black feet. Snowy has black legs/ bright yellow feet. (There’s also size and beak-color differences…)
