1 Day 1 World: 9:00-10:00 PM (2)

After a day of overcast skies, this spectacular sunset was a complete surprise.

It made coming in from an evening paddle on Ash Slough (off the Willamette River) very difficult. Calm waters and color like this… create mesmerizing experiences. Wouldn’t you agree?

The sunset photo was taken at about 9:15. (The only editing done was for photo size)

This shot was about 20 minutes later, after hauling my kayak ashore. It’s times like this that life is good…

  1. It is really difficult to capture a sunset in all its glory in a photograph. Your picture is amazing so I can imagine it was more than spectacular! Thanks for the second post of the 10th hour.

    1. Thank you, Patrick. Clouds that just seemed to soak up the colors and then refused to let them go coupled with being on the water was very amazing. The only downside was that I lagged behind a little too long and had to power paddle back to avoid being unseen on the river by powered boats.
