“1 Day 1 World” 3:00 – 4:00

Lan Su Chinese Garden

This gem of a garden is nestled in the heart of downtown Portland, Oregon. Walk through the gates to find one square city block transformed into a magical place. The garden takes visitors back to a 16th Century courtyard in China. Through these ornate doors… catch a glimpse of the Peony Show currently on exhibit.

Enjoy the beauty and tranquility …

  1. What a lovely place right in the centre of the city! And I adore peonies so would have liked to popped inside to see them properly.

        1. Interesting you should ask this question… we made just that trip yesterday to assist our daughter in a move!

It is doable so long as rush hour times are factored in. Getting stuck in Portland and, most importantly, Tacoma-Seattle traffic is something I highly recommend avoiding. With limited time, you don’t want to be parked on the I-5 freeway.

We travelled from a community west of Portland and left at 6:30ish in the morning and had smooth travels all the way to Seattle. We left Seattle at 6:30 in the evening and had smooth travels again. With good traffic, you can drive from Portland to Seattle in about 3 to 3.5 hours.
